Such an inspiring, amazing event to be a part of. A few weeks ago, my good friend Adam Cochran, asked me to help him with project he was working on with his church. I was honored and have had the privilege of photographing this very special event sponsored by St Mary’s Hospital this last week and will continue to do so as it moves over to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints late tonight.
St Mary’s hospital hosted this event in the brand new Saccomanno Education Center. It was the first event in the new building and wow, what a way to welcome the facility to our community. They have done an amazing job presenting the display and the events surrounding it. Yesterday we had the privilege of meeting Mark Mabry and listing to him speak about how this project has effected his career, his faith, and the lives of those around him.
The exhibit, which features photographic scenes from Christ’s life — from his birth to ministry to crucifixion to resurrection may be seen through tonight at St Mary’s hospital. “Reflections of Christ” will be moved to 2542 G Road in Grand Junction at the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints February 23-27, 3:00pm to 7:30pm, weekdays and 11:00am to 7:30pm, Saturday. Families of all faiths are welcome. There will be a “Meet the Artist Fireside” at the church tonight at 7:00pm, evening mini concerts throughout the event and a closing concert with Men Behind the Music on Sunday, February 28 at 7:00pm. The exhibit includes an original soundtrack by Clyde Bawden and Jason Barney of specially arranged hymns, plus a behind-the-scenes documentary shot by videographer Cameron Trejo.
You can see all of the images in the display here.
