Newborn Sneak Peek

sweet sleeping newborn baby

A peek at the portraits I’m working on today for the Harawi family. Baby Henry was a little older than my typical five to six day old baby. I didn’t get my hands on him until he was almost five weeks old and a whopping eleven pounds! With a little patience and a lot of sweet snuggles I was able to persuade him to sleep just long enough to catch a few images for his mom and dad.

Sweet Stolen Moments

I’ve photographed Fiona several times now. She’s always so full of energy and just all over the place. I’m positive her mom thinks I’m crazy because I let her kids get so silly. I’m also positive that when we end the session her mom thinks we’ve gotten NOTHING useable and that I’ll have to come back another day. Hasn’t happened yet. On this particular day, I was actually there to photograph Fiona’s little brother. We were documenting the passing of his first birthday. Fiona and I snuck off to play while her brother finished his nap.

  2. What great shots! They are spontaneous, emotion filled and real…perfect! Cheers, Rob

  3. These are so fun! I would love to have candid shots of my own children like these.

A Family Lifestyle Session

Earlier this year I spent a morning with the Neese family in their beautiful Grand Junction home.  They had recently welcomed their third baby boy to the family and were realizing that he had quickly outgrown that newborn stage. He was officially a rolly polly baby of four months. They wanted to document this special time with a lifestyle family photography session. Lifestyle photography gives me the opportunity to catch the family as they are. No real posing, just kids being kids. I love it. No pressure, no cheesy smiles, just me taking all of you in, in a relaxing playdate type of setting. The Neese home was full of natural light. I chose to do the majority of their session in the large children’s room that the boys shared. Often I try choose a place that the family spends a lot of their time in. The boys room was lit beautifully and was the perfect location for our session. Thank you boys! I enjoyed myself and I hope you did too!
